THE OPINION ON THE CHANGXING FORMATION OF THE SHAZHOU REGION IN JIANGSU PROVINCE

The Changxing Formation of the Upper Permian in the Shazhou Region is covered by Quaternary sediments.A plenty of fossils have been discovered in the Sha No.l well.In this paper,the Changxing Formation of this region has been correlated with that of the Meishan Section in the Changxing County,Zheiang Province by using the Simpson indices and the similarity of coefficients of conodonts.Therefore,it is suggested that the biofacies of this region should be marine shallow water and the lith-ofacies belongs to a wide carbonate platform according to the lithological characters.
