Abstract: Sequence Stratigraphy presents a concept of isochronostratigraphic correlation,that is,stratigraphic correlation under an isochronous framework.This makes stratigraphic correlation have more practical geological meanings.With the introduction of Sequence Stratigraphy into the study of continental sedimentary basins,some controversial questions arose in our country.Aimed at promoting the development of continental Sequence Stratigraphy in China,this paper gives a helpful discussion on the adaptability of Sequence Stratigraphy theory in the study of continental sedimentary basins,the genesis of continental sequences,the specific methods of research etc.
