Abstract: The sedimentary environments,development of lithofacies zone,and influence of tectonic movement during the Carboniferous in the Tarim basin were briefly discussed and some typical oil fields were described and assessed in the paper.The favorable targets for hydrocarbon exploration in the Carboniferous of the basin were pointed out.
