Abstract: Based on the changing characteristics of regional geochemical background values in basins,the mean content of background values in different depositional basins is disscussed as a focal point in this paper in order to evaluate the generating amount of oil and gas in basins and to predict the sca1e of oil/gas distribution and the favoriable zones of oil/gas accumulation in basins.
