Abstract: By studing seismic spread and Cenozoic igneous rocks in West Kunlun, the detection of converted waves and deposit since the Late Quaternary in Southwest Tarim and other characteristics, it is revealed that Tarim continent lithosphere is subducting southwestward beneath West Kunlun in A-type subduction. At last, the forming mechanism of A-type subduction is discussed.
