Abstract: For the firsttime,the paper describes the asssemblage and the features of the early Cretaceous sporo-pollens discovred in the Baiwan Formation,Henan Province. According to their vertical distributions of genera and families, the sporo-pollenassemblage in the Baiwan Formation can be divided in to two sub-assemblages from bottom to top. The lower one ischaracterized by classapollis-Schizacois parties while the upper one by Classsopollis-Schizaneoisporites-Jugella-Cicatricasisporites.Based on the assemblage features of the sporo-pollen,the age of the Baiwan Formation is ascertained as the Early Cretaceous,therefore,the lower sub-assemblage represents Berriasian-Valanginian,and the upper one represents Hauterivian-Barremian, respectively.
